Zane is a traditionalist in the future (perhaps not very far in the future) where Bods, created in the human form, are used as servants from cleaning houses, creating and serving meals, to being the sexual partner. Cepheus is a Bod that is chosen by Zane to help him in creating wood projects from the past or repairing wood objects.
What happens when a hot, sexy Bod bought for the purpose of work becomes more than that. The story is humorous and a little of a mind nudge toward what happens when the "robot" is a little humorous and cares. Do robots have feelings? Loved this short!
Really interesting and super spicy! I love authors that go outside the box and this was a total success!
I picked up this short story with kindle unlimited.
I've only recently begun reading M/M so I don't know how this compares, but I've read a lot of cyborg/android/A.I. and this one is well done for a cyborg novella.
I enjoyed the gentle teasing of the question "What makes a person a person?" I look forward to exploring that idea further with this author and the characters in this world in future books. Although this is a short story, the characters still read as developed and more than one dimension.
4/5 stars for editing.
I didn't find any typos. There were several places where words were missing. There were also several places it seemed a sentence or phrase was left partway through being slightly changed. So...grammar for this novella leaves a bit to be desired but a round of edits could solve it easily.
